American Supercritical builds modular supercritical CO₂ power systems that turn waste heat into electricity. Their first product upgrades the gas turbines powering data centers into more efficient combined-cycle plants, without the size, water use, and construction timelines of traditional steam systems. The modules work with any heat source, including small modular reactors, thermal batteries, concentrated solar, and industrial waste heat.
The team comes from Sandia, Southwest Research Institute, Kairos Power, Blue Origin, Ursa Major, and Google X, and is based in Denver, Colorado.
